About this listen
The Tyrant King is dead, but Esran is far from being at peace.
After the Battle of Maremer, Relaina Andovier finds herself burdened with magic that no one seems to understand. Without Darren’s help, she cannot control it and risks immeasurable pain as light and dark clash within her.
While they await news from Parea and strive to help King Fabian restore peace in Evaria, three Terranian nobles arrive with a proposal that could alter their lives forever. Darren must decide which path he will take before another potential tyrant seizes power in Terrana, and though Relaina knows she has a part to play in the conflict to come, a heart torn between three nations cannot serve them all equally.
Even as Esran grows more volatile and political tensions rise, Relaina and Darren resolve to face whatever comes together. But a new, powerful enemy is at work in the shadows, determined to achieve their own narrow vision for Esran’s future.
And Relaina is standing in their way.

Book 2...with *spice* 😍
Book 2 was everything I could have hoped for...with action, drama, romance, and....SPICE! I loved how soothing it was to listen to this book while being captivated by each characters additions to the story. The author has such a fluid, descriptive way of writing that is refreshing to hear compared to other books that throw in spice and fighting randomly to meet a quota. Every line was intentional, and you can truly hear that through the audiobook narration. Can't wait for the next book!

A lot like the last one… worth a credit.
She’s a new author and it shows. That’s not a bad thing, but to listen to this book, just like the first one, you need to start it with appropriate expectations.
Like the first book, this is a pretty straightforward story, light on world building and character development. But that’s fine if what you’re looking for is a fun and easy listen.
Unlike the first one, there seemed to be an order of magnitude more f-bombs in this one… Maybe I just noticed them more this time for some reason, but towards the end it felt like if tension was even remotely raised that I took more notice of when someone wasn’t cursing than when they were.
I’ll listen to book 3 when it comes out.
