About this listen
In a near-future dystopia where grief is weaponized and the dead can be resurrected, Project Equilibrium has transformed tragedy into a twisted experiment of control. When a brutal massacre shatters families, a clandestine government program emerges—promising a miracle by restoring one life from among the victims. But as manipulated votes and hidden surveillance reveal a system rigged to exploit sorrow, the survivors soon learn that their choices were never truly theirs.

This audiobook pulled me in from the very beginning! It is a gripping dystopian thriller that blends suspense, action, and deep psychological layers with a strong core of friendship and loyalty. The world-building was intense, the pacing spot-on, and the twists kept me guessing.
The narrator did a solid job bringing the story to life, but what really stood out to me was just how sublime the story itself was, dark, thoughtful, and surprisingly emotional in places. It felt like every chapter peeled back another layer of the characters and the world they’re trying to survive in.
I genuinely can’t wait to hear more from this series. If you like intelligent dystopian fiction with heart and tension, give this one a listen. Highly recommended!

The plot itself could be good if not for the AI writing, which gives the same phrases over and over and pushes the same version of conversations over a two plus hour book that could have been an hour.
If you don’t mind AI flowery language and have an interest in government control program stories, you may enjoy this book!
