Publisher's summary

Fast action with a little romance thrown in. Twist and turns with a surprise ending. The good guys should win. This is a fast listen with entertaining characters. You'll love the main hero and his lady or should I say, ladies. The scene is southern Alabama and money attracts bad guys like honey attracts bees. A good suspense with believable people. This is the first book of the series and you'll want to listen to all of them.

It's Like Adding Life to The Red Shoe

Since I had already read The Red Shoe (twice), it was a familiar story to listen to. But, listening to it being read out loud by a professional narrator with the various character voices and the appropriate emphases and pauses added in, it became a "new" story for me. There were little details and nuances that you just miss in the written version (unless you are maybe a professional editor). Same story, same characters, but it now has what amounts to a new persona.

Mr. Stauff is a talented narrator, and certainly has a calling. Mr. Dampier is the consummate story teller, and has published a number and variety of books that will keep you riveted to lots of pages.

Treat yourself to this wonderful mystery story in audio form and you will be looking for the rest of Mr. Dampier's library...which I hope will one day all become audiobooks.
