About this listen

The Messiah is back… and he’s not thrilled about it.

Jesus 2.0 just woke up in Manhattan—with a craving for pizza, a vague sense of doom, and zero enthusiasm for saving the world.

He swears, drinks beer, questions everything, and would really prefer not to fulfill a prophecy no one remembers writing. But time is running out, the angels are unionizing, and the end of days is ahead of schedule.

If you enjoy:

  • Satirical fiction with bite

  • Dark comedy in the spirit of Good Omens or Lamb

  • Twisted takes on religion, redemption, and divine bureaucracy

Then The Reluctant Jesus is your next revelation.

Faith. Free will. The apocalypse.

The end is near—and it’s about to get ridiculous.

The story is great, but the virtual voice narration is awful on this title. The mispronounced words and inappropriate inflections are incredibly distracting. Example - the New York neighborhood called Tribeca (try-Beck-uh) is pronounced "Try Bee Caw" and the word "dour" (dow-er) is pronounced "doooor". I avoid Virtual Voice as a rule, but the storyline intrigued me. Should have just read the book ...

Great story, but Virtual Voice ruins it!
