About this listen

Odds are good that you or someone that you know has schizoid personality disorder. Schizoids seem to exist in the world on a different level than social beings and empaths. They are the quiet observers. Other people are occasionally curious as to how the schizoid thinks, feels, and lives. The schizoid seems to be marching to the beat of a very different drum.

Schizoids are not given enough attention. The world of psychology can educate us a little bit on the 'how' and the 'why' of schizoid disorder. The problem is that each schizoid can be different from other people who are schizoids. While there is a loose definition for the different types of schizoids, everyone's personality is different and has different inborn traits. Our experiences and our brain wiring both help to develop who we are in reference to others and to the world around us.

Thank you. This helps me understand someone I care about deeply that has this type of personality. I’m trying not to take the “rejection” personally, but it’s difficult. It seems like major selfishness on his part… I can’t handle the “come here, go away!” 🤷‍♀️

Helpful to me in understanding a friend.
