About this listen

The Sandoval Mystery is a gripping murder mystery set in Washington, D.C., during the 1920s. Immerse yourself in a chilling tale of suspense, intrigue, and unexpected twists as a remote lodge becomes the scene of a baffling crime.

During a relentless blizzard, Dr. Walker and Nurse Allison Henderson are called to care for the ailing Paul Sandoval at Sandoval Lodge, an eerie farmhouse-turned-hunting-lodge. As the storm rages outside, the lodge's isolated location adds to the mounting tension, creating a claustrophobic atmosphere that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The story takes a sinister turn when Dora Carter, Sandoval's fiancée, arrives unannounced with a mysterious clergyman, Dr. Malone. Amidst the growing unease, Nurse Henderson discovers Sandoval dead, and the plot thickens with revelations of chloroforming and the presence of a stranger in his bed.

Sheriff Barksdale and Alan Freeman, Sandoval's cousin, delve into the mystery, uncovering secrets and motives that complicate the investigation. With each character harboring hidden agendas, the lodge becomes a labyrinth of deceit and danger.

The Sandoval Mystery is a masterful blend of psychological intrigue and classic whodunit elements. The 1920s setting, combined with the atmospheric Washington, D.C. backdrop, provides a rich tapestry for a story filled with unexpected twists and turns.

Virtual voice is terrible

Interesting story but the narration is awful. Voice actors have nothing to fear in this instance at least.

Poor clues throughout the story. The big reveal at the end is not very believable.

Terrible narration with “virtual voice” Virtual voice cannot distinguish enough between characters and makes it difficult to follow. And, I would add, takes work opportunities from good narrators.

Narration

The virtual voice narration is awful! There is no inflection and the voice offer skips a bet when pronouncing someone’s name. Very distracting!

The worse narration ever

The narration was awful. You could not tell the difference between the characters. One voice Monotone the entire story. I couldn’t finish it.
