McClanahan's writing is funny and raw and I loved The Sarah Book. My other family members, on a long car trip, didn't agree.

This book is so powerful and raw. I have read it and listen to it and I believe hearing Scott's Appalachian drawl makes the story that much more beautiful. This is not the kind of book I usually read but it's tormenting entertaining.
