About this listen

From the bestselling author of The Secret Mother, a chilling tale about revisiting the past—and digging up secrets you’d rather forget.

The invitation to her school reunion couldn’t have come at a better time for Chloe Flynn. Divorced, broke and bored at work, she’s living a life her teenage self would hate. Turning the clock back fifteen years might be just what she needs to wipe the slate clean and start again. And then there’s the chance she’ll bump into Nathan Blake, the one she still regrets letting get away…

Back at her elite private school, Chloe sparkles as she reunites with old friends and long-forgotten love interests. And then, just as she’d hoped, there’s Nathan, more handsome than ever before. Even better, he’s single too, and seems to be just as keen to make up for lost time…

But as the evening progresses, Chloe can’t help feeling that something’s not quite right—that she’s not the only one who’s come here for more than just a party. When the secrets of the past start to emerge and the reunion takes a sinister turn, it’s clear that nothing is what it seems—and nothing will be the same again.

Great suspense story

Just when you think this is a straight forward story about a class reunion, Shalini Boland throws in not one but several twists to the story that I didn't see coming. The narration was very good, too.

it was ok

This book started good and as it went on the characters devolved. The last 7 chapters or so were ridiculous. Why are women characters in books so immature and dumb?

Not her best one bit!

The ending was as usual a shock! Story was very slow in the beginning & end!

Just ok

I thought that the narrator sounded too immature and made the story seem a bit too immature. Storyline was ok.

Decent

Not super exciting - would have liked a bit more action, this was more emotional and verbal torture and abuse than physical action.

that ending!

I really enjoy Shalini Boland's writing and this one really had my mind reeling trying to figure out who was behind the anonymous letters. I was definitely shocked by the ending and did not see that coming. I did think the ending was a bit abrupt but also pretty fitting.

2.5 stars

The School Reunion by Shalini Boland was underwhelming - until the ending. I was debating between one and two stars as the twists were too predictable and I never warmed to Chloe. However, the ending was really good. Not shocking per se, but, still, really good. I don't like how abrupt it is, but it's easy to assume that the way it's explained is the way it happens. Because of this, I rate The School Reunion 2.5 stars rounded up to 3.

Billie Fulford-Brown, Alex Wyndham, Charlotte Cole, and Peter Noble were okay narrators. I wasn't a fan of anyone really, but no one had grating behaviors.
