About this listen
A frog decides to carry a scorpion across the river.
Halfway across the river, the scorpion stings the frog.
Why did you sting me? the frog asks, as they both start to drown.
It is my nature, the scorpion replies.
This was Jays favorite story.
After a startling spiritual awakening, Lauren enters a three-year relationship with her healthcare practitioner, Jay. He turns out to be a charming psychopath, hiding secrets deeper and darker than she ever imagined.
Lauren discovers a cover-up leading to the top of the school which employs Jay, providing a perpetual supply of naive prey. She embarks on a fierce journey to unveil the truth about the extensive abuse within her community.
Then, Lauren stands at a crossroads, facing the choice between bitterness or healing. A victim-obsessed culture promises to embrace her, but she accepts a more challenging mission: to turn a scorpions incomprehensible darkness into a resounding love story.
Part whistleblower exposé and part spiritual memoir, Lauren offers a roadmap for radical healing. THE SCORPION AND THE LION is for anyone who has been deeply hurt, and wants to come out not only healed, but resplendent.

Story of true courage
Powerful story of courage and overcoming the most insidious of adversaries; our own self doubt. This story is for any and all. We’ve all had encounters with Narcissists and they prey other’s weakness. This book teaches you how to understand their motives more importantly to better understand yourself.

Engaging and poignant! Fabulous memoir
This was a very engaging spiritual memoir and it was excellently read by the author. I finished it in under two days because it was such a page turner. She is a brilliant writer and does a beautiful job illustrating how tapping into a higher truth and the power of love can heal and create miracles

A MUST LISTEN for those on a path of self liberation!
As humanity awakens, all broken, fake systems and corrupt leaders will fall.
The holistic health/nutrition industry is no exception to corruption, just like every other system where lies get swept under the rug and power goes unquestioned.
Lauren Geertsen and her newest book/audiobook THE SCORPION AND THE LION do an amazing job of questioning broken systems and shining a light on inner and outer solutions in a riveting, empowering storytelling style that keeps you hooked until the last page. (Or audiobook “page”sentence!)
One of my favorite quotes is the following:
“When you bring truth to an untruthful environment you can expect 3 things.
First, it will lead you to a bigger and more disruptive truth than you could have imagined.
Second, you will face many who hate, shame and attack you for telling the truth.
For truth, like love, is a highly disruptive force in an unhealthy environment.
When apathetically settled into their dysfunction, people rarely appreciate being disturbed.”

This book is truly a Masterpiece
I found the energy in the content to be captivating, it’s extremely well spoken, I found the message within the content to be powerful. It is a message where the author, through her own experiences, demonstrate how we can take our challenges, our heartaches, our pain, and how it can become our greatest gift. The author also demonstrates how, that which may come packaged as darkness, we can convert to love. If everyone ever wish to be inspired, this is the book. I completed it in two days. I could not put it down. It was truly captivating and encouraging.

I have been following Lauren’s journey for years, I resonate so much with her experiences with chronic illness, abusive relationships and being outspoken in this crazy world! I hope to alchemize the dark into light just as magically as she has :)

Have you found yourself in a toxic or abusive relationship and thought to yourself, now how did I get here?
This can be your roadmap to understanding, but, more than that, into a life of thriving. In this masterpiece Lauren Geertsen shows you the way, helping you remember who you are and from where you’ve come. Not since Cathy O’Brien’s “Trance Formation of America,” have I seen someone show such divine and eternal courage. This power within this book is one that can prevent immense amounts of suffering from occurring as readers will now have a radar that society had left them without.

Brave and Truthful
I am inspired and impressed by Lauren's honest story telling. Many parts of her story are validating for me, including inclings I've had for many years about where we come from and why we are here. What a healing and powerful stance to know we can choose our outcomes. Thank you very much, Lauren.
