About this listen
Twelve-year-old Holly Harcourt is tormented by nightmares. Ordinary nightmares are scary enough, but Holly's are much worse than that. Her nightmares come true. They are visions of terrible things that will happen. One night, Holly dreams of a plane exploding over Toledo, Ohio, killing hundreds of people. She knows the airport where the plane is to take off and the name of the carrier. Holly phones the authorities, doing her best to have the plane grounded, but she is not believed and is written-off as a crank. When the plane explodes as predicted, the call is traced back to her, and her parents are arrested for a suspected act of terrorism. For Holly the real nightmare begins now.
She is sent to a remote research facility on a small island in the Pacific Northwest. Here, she encounters the dreadful Mrs Drool, the director, who runs the place like a concentration camp. Drool proves to be Holly's worst nightmare. The purpose of the facility is dream research, but Holly quickly discovers that Echo Island has a darker, more sinister agenda. including medical experiments on the children of criminals sent there as Guinea pigs. The clock is ticking. Holly must find a way to escape if she is to save herself and prove the innocence of her imprisoned parents.
