Publisher's summary

Agatha Christie’s classic novel featuring Superintendent Battle and ‘Bundle’ Brent.

Gerry Wade had proved himself to be a champion sleeper; so the other house guests decided to play a practical joke on him. Eight alarm clocks were set to go off, one after the other, starting at 6.30 a.m. But when morning arrived, one clock was missing and the prank had backfired with tragic consequences.

For Jimmy Thesiger in particular, the words ‘Seven Dials’ were to take on a new and chilling significance…

Critic reviews

"Her gift is pure genius." ( Observer)
"An amusing, exciting, well-written story." ( Outlook)
"All signs indicate that Mrs Christie has been reading P.G. Wodehouse, and she does it very well in spots. This is her gayest thriller and mustn't be missed." ( Books)

First class reader

Emilia Fox is the best female reader on audible - can she do all the Miss Marple stories?
Everything in Fox's timing, voice and timbre makes her a master reader. She has a flexibility that makes the listener at ease, making listening, easy, pleasant and effortless.
Masterful.

Five stars for Seven Dials

The vivacious and spirited Bundle Brent from 'The Secret of Chimneys' returns in this novel, this time taking the front seat. As much as everyone loves the favourite detectives, Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot, there seems to be more room for character development in Christie's other (and less well known) novels, such as this. Bundle's adventures - from the secrets of foreign countesses to the seedy Seven Dials club - keeping you riveted from beginning to end. Emilia Fox's narration adds colour and excitement, and her understanding of Christie's humour affords the listener many laughs along the way. An easy five stars for this one - will keep you glued to your iPod.

very weak

I am a massive fan of Agatha Christie and love many of her books. But the seven Dials mystery is a very poorly written story which I would not bother with at all. It is written in a very young voice with lot of such and such said or such a such did this or that. I think it was used as filler in an attempt to turn a short story into a full length novel. It did not work.
