About this listen

Things are a little off in Ed’s world when his young son Henry receives an autism diagnosis, but when childish scribbling takes on a more sinister form, Ed knows he has to do all he can to protect his children.

With no one on his side, Ed sets out to discover the secret behind the sketch and destroy it once and for all.

Ok maybe I missed something. I was really enjoying this until the last few sentences. WTH? I don’t get the ending at all. I loved how the little autistic boy was portrayed. I have an autistic great nephew who is now 30, work with autistic children as well so understand this all to well. But the ending really threw me off. I’m not sure how I’m supposed to interpret that it was Ed himself in the face he kept seeing haunting the house. Maybe someone can fill me in.

This is a short hour 1/2 long audiobook that I received as an ARC. I appreciate the chance to hear this book and I’m leaving this review on my own.

Not sure about the ending.

Ok. I didn't find this novelette that scary. I think it is because I was gifted an Audible version from the author through Story Origin. The female narrator just sounded too sweet and matter of fact. She didn't bring scary vibes to Ed's life. So at the end, I was just puzzled. Then I listened to it again knowing the surprise ending. It definitely made it creepier and more thought provoking. In the end 4 stars for the story; 3 for the narration.

It is muddled, confused, and I suspect way too personal for the author. I'll just leave it there rather than risk offense.
