Publisher's summary

He buried his soulmate, so when another walks into his life, he's not ready to accept her.

Soulmates. It was a term Luke grew up hearing seemingly every other word. With a family that could telepathically link to their ‘fated mates’ it was bound to come up often. When he found his mate in Molly, his world exploded into color. Joy unlike any he’d ever known coming each day as their daughter was brought into the world.

Until cancer rips Molly from his grip, leaving him a single parent and without his other half. Struggling to grieve and take care of their daughter, the last thing he expects is Danielle Williams. His second soulmate. It was unheard of, impossible even, and yet there she was. Torn between accepting her and refusing the bond out of loyalty to Molly, Luke has to choose which path he wants his life to take.

Taking a second soulmate has never been done before, but there’s a first for everything…

3 ⭐️

The Soulmate Restoration was pretty good. I was hoping for more of Danielle and Luke falling in love and her becoming a mom to Meg, but that wasn’t the standout plot. There was a lot of side plots happening and several other POVs scattered throughout (setting up for the next book) that took me out of the main story. It was also much more traumatic and sad than I expected. I’m all for romance with a side of trauma, but child sexual abuse is the worst kind of trauma imaginable, and it was a really shocking twist that there was no trigger warning for. I think the next book is going to be tough to get through since the victim is the main character. I hope it’s handled with a little more grace and less blunt-ness than this one addressed it with.

The narration of the audiobook was good, no complaints.

Thanks to the author for the free audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Unconditional Love and Second Chances

The Soulmate Restoration is a well written story about Luke, a widowed father, and Danielle, a single mother with a traumatic past she can't move on from. The storyline is touching, heartbreaking, heartwarming, and inspiring. I love that the author wrote about an older couples second chance at love, happiness, and resilience. This book definitely took me on a roller coaster ride of highs and lows. The storyline and characters felt so real that I cried because I became so invested in their relationship. I won't give away any spoilers, but the book is well worth it. I highly recommend this book and series if you love stories about unconditional love and forgiveness. I received this book upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review here of my own free will.

Touching

Fated mates + second chances at love are rarely done well. I think most are super cheesy but didn't find this one to be over the top. I teared up at a certain point (maybe more than one) because the emotion was well written. Meg is a charmer who is used to getting everything she wants and I'm hoping we get to see her story in the future.

Single dad, second chance romance

The lives of the key protagonists diverged. Luke is a parent who has lost his wife and has a little daughter. He was in love with his sick wife, and he is currently parenting his little daughter without seeking out a new relationship. However, Daniel, who had a history of unhealthy relationships and made numerous blunders in her partnerships, had a child who chose to live with the girl's father. Daniel is still hopeful that she will meet the right guy, but she will have to put in a lot of effort to make it happen.

Daniel's daughter, who has some influences on Daniel's life, has a side perspective.

The novel was poignant and engaging. Each character was expertly given a voice and personality by the storyteller.
