The work of the Holy Spirit is active in transformation - personally (“sanctification”) and corporately (koinonia, fellowship) while empowering disciples to effectively evangelize through loving relationships, spiritual gifts, spiritual authority, and even “signs and wonders.” An understanding of the nature, role, and empowering of the Holy Spirit is essential if we are to be like Jesus, do what he did, and do even “greater works” (John 14:10-12) than he did by fulfilling the Great Commission through communicating and demonstrating the gospel of the kingdom to all nations (Matthew 24:14).
