Exciting adventure slow to start but picks up pace

Jennifer Blake always delivers engaging adventure set in exotic locations with lots of twists and turns and even though this book is not one of my favourite it’s still far above average historical romances.

My main complaint is the silly plot centred around Napoleon, as main Hero rightly stated “three old men, a dandy and a girl set out against the military might of England and allies to free Napoleon” . it was ridiculous, very drawn out and boring.
However, the pace picked up towards the end and the best and most interesting part of the book takes part in the Algiers at that point I was so invested in the story I could stop listening, it was non stop action.

This book probably deserves a better rating but I developed such a strong dislike for heroine that all I can give it is four stars...
