About this listen

Mr. Kazallon thought that booking passage on a cargo ship from Charleston to Liverpool would be a charming way to return to his English homeland. If only he knew! A crazed sea captain, a disaster in the hold, storms, oppressive heat, sharks and starvation are just some of the many travails that will beset both passengers and crew. Will any of them survive the wreck of the Chancellor?©2001 Tantor Media Incorporated Action & Adventure Classics

It was an OK story. But I guess the main charicter was so worn out by the end of his arduous ordeal, aparently he didnt have the energy left to tell any kind of a detailed ending at all.

Interesting Story, but not Super Iintense

Good story and good deliverance. The British accent was nice, but suffered on animated voices.

Overall, Good

As always, Jules Verne provides a masterpiece. Though this is perhaps his darkest work, it should not be avoided.

A Masterpiece, but not one for the faint of heart-

I am a fan of Verne and was excited to find this free version. The story is short and interesting, but the narrator is probably the worst I have ever heard. Sounds like Cruella Deville’s spoiled stepchild being forced to read a story so he can go back to sleep. And his french accent…..my goodness.

Worst narrator I have ever heard

This book takes away the desire to be a shipwreck, it describes one misfortune after another, when I finished the book I felt exhausted

This is the result of the July depression.

I love Jules Vernes stories but the narrator was so awful, I couldn't make it through the second chapter.

Could Not Finish
