Alfred Edersheim
Alfred Edersheim’s book is a guide to the Holy Temple that attempts to relay the essence of the temple’s significance in the life of Israel and in the theology of the early Christians. The author shares his detailed knowledge of the building and its environment, the utensils used, and the tasks of the priests on the major holidays like Passover, Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles.

My main trouble is with the narration of the book. For one, he reads subheadings within chapters so quickly and without a good pause that it is difficult to discern when he is moving from one subtopic on to another. Secondly, I purchased a print copy of the book and followed along as he read. While doing so, I realized that A LOT of words are left out throughout the narration, so much so that some sentences do not make sense if all you have is the audio. For example, one particular sentence in Chapter 5 reads,
"But the Holy One - blessed be He - accepted our sacrifice from us as redemption and atonement."
However, the narrator literally reads it as follows, "But the Holy One - be He - our sacrifice from us as redemption and atonement."
Lastly, I personally feel that the narration is kind of monotone.
Narration made it difficult to follow
