Publisher's summary
All Calwyn wants to do is limp home and hide. But she can't, because although her power is gone and taken all happiness with it, her responsibilities seem to grow every day. There's a sickness attacking the chanters of Tremaris, a sickness that seems to have infected the land itself. And even though Calwyn is now just an ordinary girl with no magic left in her, she can't sit by and watch the world die.
This is a story about tremendous courage and the strength of spirit that life sometimes demands. But it's also a story of hope, because sometimes when everything you know has failed you, there is another way. Sometimes there is a tenth power, if only you can find it.

"There is much to enjoy and ponder in a trilogy that strives to ask hard, thoughtful questions." (School Library Journal)

No sound effects!
This has been an interesting series - one of the better ones I've chosen lately. I did struggle to get through the first two because of the *VERY* distracting sound effects, but this one is just narrated. Yeah! I just thought I'd let listeners know that if they were put off by the first two, at least the last one is an enjoyable listening experience.

New to fantasy
I have never been into fantasy, but after I read the first book I was hooked. the entire series kept me on the edge of my seat. This last book was particularly gripping. I was in despair with all the characters as they faced their terrible realities. I don't want top give away spoilers, so I'll end it there. i definitely recommend!
