Publisher's summary

For Kip, growing up in shadow of the human men-only Prince George's College of Sorcery has been 19 years of frustration. Magic comes naturally to him, yet he's not allowed to study sorcery because he's a Calatian - one of a magically created race of animal people. But when a mysterious attack leaves the masters desperate for apprentices, they throw their doors open, giving Kip his chance.

As he fights to prove his worth to the human sorcerers, he encounters other oddities: a voice that speaks only to him, a book that makes people forget he's there, and one of the masters who will only speak to him through a raven. Greater than any of those mysteries or even whether the College's attacker will return to finish the job is the mystery of how Kip and his friends can prove that this place is where they belong…

Super enjoyable!!

Great characters, great writing, great story, amazing voice acting! I don’t normally like fiction involving magic, like Harry Potter, but this had me hooked!

An Enjoyable Experiance

The story has some lulls during transitional phases from time skips, and it is keeping the world building progressed. I would not recommend this to an audience that is sensitive to Bullying/Gore/Dismemberment/Acts of Violence. Tim uses these tools as an effective, and progressive way to build this world. Other than this point; I would highly recommend this book. It has high levels of engagement, and world building. It has tremendous depth, and potential to continue and grow. The reader for this novel did an exceptional job at distinguishing each charrecter, and enhancing their individual characteristics. The reader provides various accents, and vocal oscillations to define each charecters moods and actions. This novel has a very extensive vocabulary use, and I would recommend keeping a dictionary, and/or a Google tab open for the periodic word that is uncommonly used in day to day modern speach.

A Great Story and Beautifully Performed

A great story, well written and good narrative performance. I don't like to give spoilers to the stories in the reviews, but I can say that it kept me hooked through the whole narration without any lulls or dragged out parts.

A lot of negativity.

Narrator good. Did not find the story because I read for enjoyment. Made me too stressed to hear the characters misfortune every time.
