About this listen

From author Andrew Fukuda comes The Trap, the explosive finale to The Hunt trilogy - perfect for fans of The Hunger Games!

After barely escaping the Mission alive, Gene and Sissy face an impossible task: staying alive long enough to stop an entire world bent on their destruction. Bound on a train heading into the unknown with the surviving Mission girls, Gene, Sissy, David, and Epap must stick together and use everything they have to protect each other and their only hope: the cure that will turn the bloodthirsty creatures around them into humans again. Now that they know how to reverse the virus, Gene and Sissy have one final chance to save those they love and create a better life for themselves. But as they struggle to get there, Gene's mission sets him on a crash course with Ashley June, his first love...and his deadliest enemy.

Excellent Finish!

The Trap is the third and final story in The Hunt trilogy.

This book picked up just after Gene and Sis escaped the mission and discovered that together they are The Origin. Gene + Sis = Genesis which means the beginning or The Origin.

In this story we learn a fair amount more about Gene's and Ashley June's backstory and their history living amongst the duskers.

Will Gene and Sis cure all the duskers? How will Gene deal with his mixed feelings for Ashley June who was turned into a dusker earlier on in the series? Will they ever find a safe haven? Does Gene's dad live?

Very well written by Andrew Fukuda and very well read by Sean Runnette - both these skilled storytellers always deliver excellent books!

This book has probably the best ending ever written to a vampire type novel, possibly the best ending of any novel I have ever read!

***SPOILER*ALERT***

"They will wilt like candles in a blaze. We will drive them into the ground. Into isolated caves...forced to retreat into mountain castles...until they are reduced to insignificant footnotes, not even in the annals of history but, of folklore. All memory of them erased, they will be mocked in the pages of fiction...this new land will be mine and Sissy's and we will call it land Eden."

WOW. A thriller to the last word!

Would you listen to The Trap again? Why?

Yes. Now that I know the ending, I want to go back and relisten. I am sure I will pick up new details.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Trap?

the last sentence of the last book... DID NOT SEE THAT COMING.

What does Sean Runnette bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

his voice inflection was spot on.

Any additional comments?

Andrew Fukuda is a genius. I rate a good book based on how it affects me after I finish. This story has been in my dreams, and I can't stop thinking about the characters and the story. I wish there was a 4th book.
