This epoch tale of honor, love, greed, cowardice and redemption threads down through time, following the sacred Levite treasure from Moses to Nazi occupied Rome. God designates the keeper and their protectors in each generation, but after all the blood and tears that have been shed protecting the sacred things, as the Nazi's threaten the lives of thousands of Roman Jews, one ignorant keeper may thwart two millennia of sacrifice. Some of her protectors will go to any length to keep her from a catastrophe, but others are mere pretenders, seeking the treasure for themselves.

I enjoyed the story line and appreciated the author’s notes that clarified the authenticity of some of the story elements. The reading with a digital audio voice is not my favorite, as I prefer the human voice nuances in reading, but it was tolerable, and it did not change the fact that I enjoyed the story.
