About this listen

For centuries, young men in their 18th year have been sent away from the small village of Dungan for a year-long exile as they begin their journey into manhood. This traditional exile, the Troven, was instituted so that young men may find themselves, find their purpose, and find their place in the world. When Kaz Kinsley and his three friends leave to begin their Troven, all they have on their minds is getting to the first sign of civilization and finding a way to survive on their own. Fate has more in mind for these young men, though. Stone Seekers are on the move, sent by the evil sorcerer Mordyar to find six magical stones, each with the power to enhance one of six gifts every person in Denall is born with. When Kaz unknowingly comes into possession of the Sight Stone, he and his friends become part of the story of the Stones of Power, and their Troven suddenly becomes something much more.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes a great read, or audio. The narrator does each character with energy and individuality.

Any additional comments?

A fantasy in the style of Lord of the Rings. Each character is interesting, the story ls exciting and hard to put down. As i was nearing the end I learned the next in the series is available and got it My reading pleasure continues. I recommend this to all fantasy lovers and for readers who enjoy a good book.

Solid fantasy novel.

For me it had a rough start where I did not care about the main characters and they did not seem to have a voice but the writing quality grows along side the character development. All in all it was a simple but enjoyable read.

No. Some YA books are fun for adults, not this one

Likable characters but nearly everything else about the story was painful.

Kids might enjoy it but skip it if you're looking for something better crafted.
