About this listen

What started as a wonderful love story for Mélissa and Scott ended 16 years later with Scott’s dramatic death, leaving Mélissa and her two young children to endure the unimaginable. In her desperation, Mélissa prayed for guidance, and God responded by sending her an army of angels to make her transition from wife to widow more bearable. Since her husband’s passing, Mélissa has felt a strong calling to use her voice to address the stigmas around suicide and mental health. This book’s purpose is to bring awareness to the long-term effects of emotional suppression and repression while offering unwavering support.

If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, suppressing emotions, feeling stuck, or ready to make a change but don’t know where to begin, then this book may be your light. Mélissa shares her heartbreaking story and offers life-saving tools to help you move forward from a desperate situation and find hope.

Beautifully written book! A must read for healing

Melissa connects with her readers through her vulnerability of her story of healing after her husband’s suicide and childhood trauma. This book gave me so much hope to continue my healing journey. I loved the small daily steps suggestions and encouragement she gave through her book.

Thank you for your vulnerability, Melissa! Keep on shining bright!

Powerful book.

Touching story and lots of great points that bring awareness about mental health. A lot of us adults don’t know what other adults have been through as children. That all shows up later in your life if you don’t seek help along the way. I can tell Melissa is strong and a great mother, which is important these days. I love her passion for wanting to help people and help raise our kids right, so that when they get older they won’t have the same struggles that some of us have. My dad always told me that we may think we are in charge, but we are not. In the end, God is in charge and we need him to make it through this life that can get seemingly difficult. Highly recommended read for anybody.
