Very Beneficial book

A Positive Book Full of Hope and Healing

This book was a great read. It is such a positive book and brings to light the often much misunderstood problems of disordered eating which are pervasive throughout our society. While eating disorders, negative body image and anxiety are common in our society (thanks to unrealistic media), etc., this book works to create a path forward so that anyone dealing with these things will have specific steps they can take. It's also a great book if you're trying to understand where someone in your life is coming from when they are struggling with these issues - so that you can be a better friends, parent, or co-worker to them. I definitely recommend this book and found it helpful. It deepened my understanding of these issues as well as gave me a specific toolset for dealing with body image anxiety and eating disorders.

Recovery skills that are encouraging and doable

Wow! This audiobook is packed full of help that is compassionate, encouraging, and practical (easy to follow routine).
Overcoming anxiety can be difficult, yet this book can come along side of you and help guide the way with encouragement, tips to follow, and wisdom to help your recovery.
One of the themes I found most helpful is try, try again. Too often perfectionism just gets in the way, yet is so familiar. So, to be encouraged to try again is so helpful. This reminder is woven throughout the book.
The other theme I found supportive is the goals that are doable and can grow into habits over time. Tips on goals and making smart goals really jumpstart my life change. Remember to be kind to myself.
Reflection with lots of questions is a huge piece of recovery. Journaling and finding gratitude for the good things about me is another positive in this book. Realizing how far you have come gives strength for days that aren’t so good.

Two Pillars of Power - Very helpful

This book introduced me to some things that I didn't know anything about. Body dysmorphia and anorexia were things I had heard of, but not studied much. Stress and anxiety I know very well. This book is full of practical help for anyone who struggles with their body through negative thoughts etc. It tells you exactly what to do to self calm and how to change your way of thinking. It helps you overcome negative self talk and introduces positive self talk. They talk about exercise and yoga to help, which I absolutely know works. Great book for anyone struggling with these types of issues.
