Publisher's summary

Ascending to a holiday party on the thirty-second floor of a Manhattan skyscraper, the building's only elevator breaks down, trapping grinchy curmudgeon "Nasty Nate" DuPont and the stubborn Director of Finance, Twila Henderson, inside. With bumbling maintenance workers en route and emotions running high, Twila and Nate struggle to stay civil. As hideously dressed co-workers mingle feet beyond their blocked exit, stuffed emotions bubble to the surface over the captive duo's seemingly forgotten past.

Bursting with heat and humor, this third-person steamy laugh-riot will leave you with an HFN that will warm your heart on even the coldest winter night. From the Alba sisters (authors of The Billionaire's Assistant & Call of the Wyl) comes a spicy standalone contemporary romance novella for fans of forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers, workplace romance, grumpy boss, holiday romance, & romantic comedy tropes.

Irreverent humor + holiday romance

This cute holiday novella brims with sass. The banter was clever and snarky. I really liked this story but as with every good novella, I didn't want the story to end. I wanted more: more snark, more character development, more storyline. For a novella, though, it packed a lot into a little bit of time. A few secondary characters had interesting side storylines going and I hope to see those developed into more.

The narration was well done by one of the authors.

Twila and Nathan

Twila gets stuck in the elevator with the office grinch(Nathan) , instead of enjoying the office Christmas party! But, by the time the elevator doors open turns out they were having a party of their own. Turns out Nate is not such a grinch after all. This was a fun, short story. Phil and his trainee Beth the elevator repair workers come to their aid. This is a two couple romance that I enjoyed reading. This is a new Author to me. Ugly Sweaters

This is how I like my short stories. Not too much focus on back stories. Just enough to know the personality of each character. Reminds me of the sitcom The Office.

The narrator was a little bit of a turn off. The audio quality was lacking. It sounded like they were speaking through a tin cup and a section even repeated itself. At one point, the sound of one of the characters changed mid-sentence and I almost thought it was a different character.

Overall the story was light, funny, and easy to like.

An Entertaining, Hilarious Read

Thank you to Odessa Alba and Aurora Alba for allowing me to listen to a copy of this book. This book didn't take itself seriously and just made fun of its own characters. And it was short and sweet, and didn't overstay its welcome. And the romance was sweet, and I loved every moment of my experience. I can't wait to read more from Odessa and Aurora Alba.

What happens at the Christmas party

What happens when you get a group of people together and the punchbowl is spiked at a Christmas party. This is a laugh out loud story of a company party where different scenarios are occurring. I enjoyed the story from beginning to end.

slow burn

Twila is on her way to her office Holiday party when she finds herself stuck in the elevator with her boss Nathan (Nasty Nate). With the tension and annoyance building between them the hotter the elevator gets. Literally hotter wait to be rescued halfway up to the 32 floor of their office building. Great story I definitely recommend.

Cute Contemp Romance: Forced Proximity

A super cute, short contemporary romance using the forced proximity (stalled elevator) trope with a hint of previous one night stand. Author narrated....and well presented.

Short. Funny. Sexy.

This novella was adorably funny. I loved all of the Hanukah jokes inside a Christmas book. “”Guilt and matzah balls”

Didn’t Float My Holiday Boat

I listen to a fair amount of audiobooks, and I like it when an author actually narrates the book. Nobody knows the book like its author. This book has two co-authors, and one of them narrated this book. I wouldn't call her the best narrator, and perhaps not even the best for this story, but she was decent enough. Unfortunately, I was not wild about the story itself. While I love a good holiday office romance book, this one was a bit too crude for my liking. In general, I'm not a fan of that, but I dislike it even more in holiday romances, as I believe it is disrespectful to the reason for the season. Not only did pretty much every character have a potty mouth, but the intimacies described, especially the one between people who formerly were not getting along before they got stuck in an elevator, were more cringe-worthy than sexy. And the way the people acted at the holiday party … my goodness! Unless you like filthy Christmas office party romance stories—and no judgment if you do!—avoid this one.
