Arah's amazing jouney into the magical world. Buy it today!

In a small, medieval village lives the 13-year-old Arah, who was raised as an orphan in the household of the kind pastor. Arah loves books and often retreats into her own dream world. A significant day comes when a travelling exorcist comes into the village searching for hidden witches. Although Arah likes to fantasize about magic and deep down in her heart would love to have magical powers, she can only listen to the exorcist's words with suspicion. There could not possibly be witches in the real world....

When she is suddenly accused of being a witch, it is time for her to flee. The girl does not yet know that the exorcist’s allegations are actually correct. Only when Arah meets the real magic she understands more and more who she really is. A journey full of suspense and danger awaits the girl during which she not only finally finds out who her parents are, but also discovers love for the first time.

Coming of age and self discovery

With the Unsuspecting Witch, we see a young girl come up out of the world she knows into one that is strange and magical. She questions the norms that she sees in her village as well as those of her new found world and it's interesting and exciting to experience the changes in thought that she has throughout the story. Set during the inquisition, this take on witches and magicians gives an interesting take on how it might have been to be a witch during that time.

Enjoyable

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.

Based on the blurb and the cover art, I thought that this would be a more creepy kind of tale and perhaps, reminiscent of the Salem witch trials. It is not. It is well-written quick story with enjoyable characters. It is a good family book - starting from the age of 11 or 12. There is no swearing or violence.

The story drew me in from the beginning and I enjoyed the main character, Arah, her growth; her learning to do magic; and her interest in discovering her family. The ending was a bit rushed - almost like a quick wrap of the events. I wish more time had been spent on it.

The narrator, Bill Allender, did a very good job. He has a very pleasant voice and a good narration pace. Because of the narration, I was more drawn into this story.

Unique tale of an unsuspecting witch

This is the first book in The Nature’s Magic series. It was an engaging story with unexpected twists and turns. IMO this book is appropriate for older teens and young adults.

Narration was well done and brought the story to life.

In this book you will find hate, love, friendship, danger, magic, revenge, and adventure. The conclusion was very unexpected and nothing like I had predicted it.

This is a great short story with a little over 4 hours that you can easily listen to at one sitting. The story gripped my attention and kept me guessing what was going to happen next until the surprise conclusion.

There is no hint of what is to come on book 2 but I’m very curious of what is coming next.

An unsuspectingly great book..

This book was given to me for free at my request. I am leaving a voluntary review:

Such a great, easy to listen to, and original book. I was a little worried at first because I thought this book might have been more of a kids book. While I'm sure kids would like this audiobook, so did I. Sometimes I what it says about me all the YA books that I end up really liking. The narration was also really good! I definitely plan on reading the next book!

Is she or isn’t she?

What the what? That is what I call a surprise ending. All in all, I enjoyed the story. The main character is a 13 year girl so that makes one understand why the book is said to be for middle school and adult audiences. However, there is lot of “hate” arcs in the story, but there is also love and friendship as well. It is the gruesomeness of the witch trials that gives me pause for a young audience. There are several twists and turns and as I said above, a surprise ending.

The narration worked for the story and when voices were used it suited that character. If you enjoy a short read that can grab your attention quickly and keep your interest throughout, this a read for you. At my request, I receive free copy of this audiobook and voluntarily leave this review.

The story is good. But you can hear everytime the narrator opens his mouth. Every crack, Every movement.
