Publisher's summary

On July 2, 1937, one of America's greatest adventurers suddenly vanishes. The event makes global headlines, fueling decades of debate, and birthing countless conspiracy theories.

Gregory Wentz's yacht is marooned on an uncharted island in the Pacific Ocean. The U.S. Senator's fifteen-year-old son ventures into the tree line and finds something amazing: the scattered remains of a plane wreck with the number N16020 stamped on its wing. Wentz, a former Air Force pilot, instantly recognizes what he's looking at. He contacts someone he knows he can trust, a man who is supposed to be dead, Solomon Raegor, Director of the Tactical Archaeological Command.

What was already a historic discovery turns into something infinitely bigger once Raegor and TAC operative Jack Reilly uncover the truth.

Amelia Earhart was hijacked at gunpoint shortly before taking off on that fateful day. Her co-pilot was replaced by a desperate man with a crazy plan, and information concerning one of history's other greatest mysteries: the location of Marco Polo's lost fleet, and the fortune it holds.

Fans of Indiana Jones, Uncharted, and Tomb Raider love Jack Reilly!

An Unexpected Ride!

As usual, Matt has crafted a fantastic adventure, threading together disparate elements into a single well woven story. Jack is a favorite character and his discoveries around the world are a fantastic tapestry of the thrills inherent in this genre. I genuinely appreciate the use of historical events, but more so the care with which they are utilized. I will admit, however, that I miss seeing Bull.

The narrator as always brings life to these characters and settings. He, to me, IS Jack! But he also evokes unique mental images of every character. In all, this is a wonderfully crafted story .

I would have liked to have seen scenes from the perspective of Polo’s men, perhaps a preamble setting up the tale. Nonetheless a great take on that particular mystery.

And Die Hard is most definitely a Christmas story ;)
