Ten years ago, Jarrett Murata walked away from Tyla and their marriage, leaving her with no explanation. Now he’s back. Tyla can’t forgive him for leaving, but most of all she can’t forgive him for giving up everything he believed in to become part of the Nazarien order. As a plague tears through both Loden and Nevaisser, Tyla faces the reality that she must venture into the unknown in search of a cure.
Jarrett has been summoned to Temeron as her escort, but their past makes such an alliance difficult. Of course, Tyla’s secret doesn’t help. A pact made with the Nazar haunts Jarrett, but nothing can keep him from Tyla when he hears of her need. However, fanatics in the Nazarien order have long memories and will do anything to uphold Tomlin Trauner’s dying wish – Jarrett must never return to Temeron. If he should, Tyla’s life is forfeit.

An Awesome Listen
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and enjoyed the next generation of this story. Ten years has past, Tyla and Jarrett are reunited with a mission to save their people from a plague. Even though his father is died, the pledge Jarrett made with him is still hanging over his head. Kalas is once again trying to save his sister even though assassins follow his every step. Failure could cost all lives in both Loden and Nevaisser, The continuation of this story grabs you right away pulls you into the story to the point where it is hard to turn it off. This series has something for everyone, suspense, drama, mystery, humour and a touch of romance. This combination of author and narrator creates pure enjoyment. Looking forward to next book.

Engaging and Captivating Journey
Jarrett and Tyla reunite after a ten-year-long absence to find the cure for a devastating and deadly plague. Both Jarrett and Tyla are forced to call a truce and join forces to travel to an unknown island for the cure. Their travels are hindered by trust, fear, dying wishes, and rogue Nazarien members to name a few. This is an epic adventure!
M. L. Hamilton, the author, has once again captivated her listeners! Jarrett and Tyla’s current adventure is thrilling, seamlessly integrating with their established history and relationship. The narrative is well-crafted, featuring solid plot twists and new characters that enhance the story. The dialogue was rich and authentic.
The narrator, Kelley Hazen, is a true craftsperson as her character voices remain consistent with those in previous books in the series. Her delivery was smooth and her voice flawless. She speaks clearly and with proper intonation, keeping the narrative realistic and engaging.
Together M.L. Hamilton and Kelley Hazen make a magnificent and powerful team! This book it all - action, romance, thrills, adventure, and a captivating journey! A must-listen!
