Now to give you the meaning of my life

Woolf’s masterpiece of experimental internal Impressionism celebrates the complexities of personality as we intuitively see, hear, feel, smell, and touch the meanings of life. A communal celebration of individuality within the drama of music and literary mysticism.

Excellent

Wish it had been possible for Davies to dramatize ‘The Waves’ entirely, but am still enjoying this and have listened repeatedly as it is so well-done. Thank you to Davies for his insight and understanding of the soul of this piece and for making it widely available. Highly recommend as an introduction to Woolf’s masterpiece, as an enjoyment purely for listening pleasure, or a stepping stone to her other works. I encourage readers to endeavor to read ‘The Waves’ in print as it is staggeringly beautiful and I am grateful to Virginia for persevering to complete it. In her journals she stated it gave her much trouble and was a challenge to finish. As I’m more and more familiar with her work and am also reading ‘The Waves’ in print, I can’t help but wonder what else she would’ve produced had she lived. I have no doubt, due to her genius, she is forever, the only writer able to surpass ‘The Waves’, which in my opinion is a most important magnum opus, a perfect expression of our humanity and the enigmatic questions of who we are, why we are here and what meaning, if any, there is to life.
