Personal, scriptural, and thorough
I have known the author for many years, and I am happy to type that I enjoyed this listen. Below, I leave a chapter-by-chapter summary of my friend’s work.
Chapter 1 starts with a plethora of Scripture references. These tone-setting statements, given from the get-go, signify that this work will be based in The Bible itself.
… Chapter 2 contained solid didactic teaching on the salvation plan.
… In Chapter 3, there was good history here, and a strong evangelistic plea.
… Chapter 4 is the most personal chapter to me. It tells the most gripping and individual stories of a how a home missions pastor or church planter begins their work. The perils and promises of starting something new, and receiving the blessing from God of new converts and reaching the lost.
… In Chapter 5, the author posits a new theological perspective on how conflict can be redirected by God for good.
… Chapter 6 was the tough one for me - it says that respect is not earned, but given. These words challenge a long-held cultural norm, but I’m thankful for this new perspective given in the present writing. The author uses the military analogy of respect being automatically given because of rank, instead of it being garnered over time.
… Chapter 7 on disagreements is a dose of ministry common-sense advice on how to disagree without humiliating the other party.
… Chapter 8 is my favorite. Holiness isn’t just about clothes - it also involves our words, as well.
… To me, chapter 9 simply continues the theme of chapter 8 (“Holiness in Conversation”). Here, we learn the danger, and the potentially hurtful consequences, of gossiping.
… Perhaps as a single man, chapter 10 is the most relevant to me, personally. In it, the author gives us stern warnings on the negative long term effects of dating-and-marrying outside of the faith.

Grimmett Does it Again!
Simply incredible. It is so refreshing to see an emerging author who speaks the truth unashamedly, but also with respect.
