Therefore, those who conclude, in frustration, that there are no satisfying answers to these basic questions about existence either become cynical or choose to distract themselves or casually satisfy themselves by embracing an explanation left behind by an “enlightened” other. Even then they are haunted by the same questions in those moments when the strength of their distractions loses its grip and the person is suddenly confronted by the realization of self-deceit.
In this brief mortal existence, there is no escape from grappling with questions that are meant to bring us to a higher state of awareness, a state where the mysteries begin to unveil themselves.
