About this listen
“It’s a dangerous time for a Witch.”
The scars left behind by the Blood Massacre of 1888 still run deep through the Witches of Britain a hundred and thirty-five years later. Queen Mara, who led the Witches to victory on that harrowing night, must once again face her old enemy as well as a mysterious group of rebels with seemingly no motive. Tired and ready to retire, Queen Mara wants nothing more than to pass the baton on to her only living heir...
...too bad Lumen doesn’t want to be Queen.
With only a few weeks left until she turns twenty-one and must officially claim the title of Heir to the Blood Crown, Lumen is determined to spend her last moments of freedom doing what she loves best – sneaking out to walk among mortals and getting outrageously drunk at the upcoming Samhain Ball. Fate has a different idea. As a night of debauchery drags on, Lumen is embroiled in a mystery that will rewrite history, shed light on the recent attacks on Witches, and send her on a path to discover the true culprit behind her parents’ murders.
A hundred and thirty-five years in the past, two brothers are the only reason that the ignorant Witches of Gallows End haven’t been slayed in their entirety. Though the Grave brothers’ names may never make it into the history books, that doesn’t mean they’ll be entirely forgotten.

Story
I wasn't ready to be president of an MC like Iron Tzars, but my father left me little choice. I grew up in the club. At 29, most of the men still see me as no more than a kid. But my daddy taught me well. I tolerate no disloyalty or disrespect and always put the club first. Then I met Iris. She's a heap of trouble in a small package and she pings my radar from the moment I first lay eyes on her. I know she's going to be mine—which means she has to trust me to take care of her. But Iris trusts no one when it comes to her sister. With both of them in danger, I now have to make a decision.

Story
I'll never forget the sight of my little sister's lifeless body—or that my rogue magic killed her. Sorcery like mine is punishable by death. So I live in the shadows, stealing from the corrupt to give to the needy. Maybe a little good can wash the blood from my hands. It seems like a decent plan... until I try to help a dying noblewoman and somehow steal her soul instead. Now her ghost is demanding I take up the quest that got her killed: exposing a conspiracy at the royal college to unleash a deadly power on the entire kingdom.

England, 1881. Hereford Cathedral stands sentinel over the city, keeping its secrets, holding long forgotten souls in its stony embrace. Hecate Cavendish speeds through the cobbled streets on her bicycle, skirts hitched daringly high, heading for her new life as Assistant Librarian. But this is no ordinary collection of books. The cathedral houses an ancient chained library, wisdom guarded for centuries, mysteries and stories locked onto its worn, humble shelves. The most prized artifact, however, is the medieval world map which hangs next to Hecate’s desk.

Subtlety I wiped the drool from the corner of my mouth. What did this man do for a living, wrestle bulls? I’m confident being a thicker girl, he could handle me in the sheets. His sudden deep laugh and sparkle in his eyes hinted he wasn’t like other guys. Although we just met, he checks off all my must have boxes. Ironically, I was on a blind date with his friend, he moved his feet and Sander took his seat. His compliments and mannerisms ensured me he was feeling the same connection.

Sometimes we pass down tales from one generation to the next so that the memories of the past remain alive. But when what's foretold to come true starts to unfold before your very eyes, do you let what's written play out? Or do you rip a page out of fate's book and create your own destiny? These are some questions Meeko finds himself asking on Halloween night. When spooky things start happening after his beloved’s return to town.

In this powerful true crime memoir, an award-winning identity theft expert tells the shocking story of the duplicity and betrayal that inspired her career and nearly destroyed her family. Axton Betz-Hamilton grew up in small-town Indiana in the early '90s. When she was 11 years old, her parents both had their identities stolen. Their credit ratings were ruined, and they were constantly fighting over money. This was before the age of the Internet, when identity theft became more commonplace, so authorities and banks were clueless and reluctant to help Axton's parents.

I lied to get a job as a financial planner, and to keep it I have to befriend the two other girls in the office, Alice and Taylor. One's an uptight priss, and the other's a thirsty party girl. When we take a trip to stay at a cabin on a lake, I'll find out I'm not the only one keeping secrets. But it turns out the three of us aren't the only ones in this trendy tourist town. There's our silver fox host who keeps butting in, Taylor's two-faced hookup, and then I keep thinking I'm seeing someone out in the woods. It might be my imagination, until late at night I hear footsteps outside our cabin.

A Witty Must Read
I love how even tho the MC is a witch she can't just magic her way out of everything and even knows what she is and isn't capable of doing with her own magical abilities. The world is beautifully written, and I can't wait to see what the next book in the series has to offer. This book made me laugh so much with the witty comments. Wasn't a fan of the matting trope but the characters personalities made up for it a little.
This books is a lot like The Ruby Red trilogy but with witches and vampires and other supernatural creatures.

A great book could not put it down. It kept me from the beginning to the end. I thought that that the characters could have been talked about more but you get so invested into the main characters that it kind of makes it all work out. This book is so worth 5 stars easily.

OUTSTANDING!!!
The audiobook had me hooked from beginning to end. It was fast paced and action-packed with a wonderful cast of characters and storyline. There were twists turns, deception, betrayal and love. Lumen is a witch princess who will soon be turning twenty-one. At this point she will be named as the next queen. There is even time travel for Lumen. This is when her world as she knew it turns upside down. Narrator Jane Wing brought this book to life. I cannot wait for book 2.

Cozy adventure
I’m not one to read romantacy, but I picked this up hoping to cozy up inside the fantasy world with the royal witches and vampires and it did not disappoint me. Oh I forgot to say, Wazzup
We met our girl Lumen, her sisters by bond and her badass grandma who happens to be the Queen of witches in modern time. Then we got thrown back in time and met the gorgeous Grave Brothers, who happen to be vampire slayers and they bring us a long time to a wild, mossy and ale - filled adventure.
The narrator did a fantastic job with the storytelling, bringing this book to life. I will definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy cozy fantasy, but not to those seeking adult fantasy. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Witches and Vampires, Oh My!
Lumen is a witch on the cusp of her 21st birthday poised to begin her training to be queen. She hides from all what her witch gift is, and it gets her transported 135 years in the past. Book starts off slow, but once it picks up, it moves quickly to the end, which, of course, is a cliffhanger. Well written and the narrator was very good. Will be waiting for book 2.

Witches, Vampires and a Mystery
The Ways of Wayward Witches is a well written book that has adventure, magic, humor, romance, and magical creatures. The first book usually just tells a story but this author builds a vivid magical world that is so descriptive that one can envision the story as it plays out. I enjoyed how the author was able to build suspense because it made me more invested and engrossed in the story and its characters.
This story has a female sassy multifaceted character named Lumen who rather she likes it or not is destined to be Queen but she has other ideas. I don't want to give spoilers but i will say this you will not be disappointed this book has everything spice, romance, time travel, and magic. I also appreciate that the author gives us well thought out backstories and not just the main story because it helps to immerse the reader into the plot. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves witches, vampires, spice, and adventure.
