About this listen

The captivating sequel to The Demon of Darkling Reach....

Having survived the harrowing experience of her courtship, Isla must now make a decision - a decision that will affect the course of her life and that, if she chooses unwisely, indeed might end that life before it's truly begun. But before she can take control of her future, there are things she needs to know about the lover who remains so much a stranger. Is this dark, tormented man merely misunderstood? Or is he, in fact, the Devil made flesh? What truly motivates him - and what does he want from her?

And what, indeed, does she want for herself?

I found this sequel to be engaging (for the most part). I liked that the secondary characters have become more developed and that we're getting to see dark sides of people who we thought were kind. And vice versa, as well.

The narrator, as always, did a great job giving each character a depth and complexity.

Great follow up to the Demon of Darkling Reach

the author spends too much on details around the characters and not enough on keeping the story going. although, the story isn't bad, youd just have to wait until you're halfway through the book to actually learn where the story is going.
