About this listen

It's crazy how drastically life can change in what seems like an instant. One minute you're floating on cloud nine, excited about planning your future with your soulmate, and the next you're drowning in grief at their sudden departure. For Kimori Spriggs, this became her reality when she found out she was expecting her first child, a child that she and her husband had prayed for with utmost desire, only to lose her husband on the same day due to an unfortunate tragedy. The happiest moment of her life turned into the saddest in mere hours.

Months later, Kimori forces herself to return to work while grappling deeply with the unexpected loss. It's then that she crosses paths with Karter Kingsley - an affluent man who has also faced pain in life but conceals it beneath a hardened facade and his past heartaches have shaped him into a stoic individual.

Though their initial encounter was far from a pleasant one, and left much to be desired, Kimori and Karter find solace in each other's company, not realizing they're slowly mending each other's emotional wounds.
However, the question remains whether the emotional pain they have experienced will be too overwhelming for either of them to move forward.

The storyline was well written. As soon as I thought I had the characters figured out...tuh.. I didn't. The writer did well except for a slight error in dialog toward the end. Other than that.....Well done Well done

Great Holiday Read

I don’t think there is anything I like about this book. I don’t know how it ended up in my library as I didn’t purchase it (at least on purpose). I was out of credits so I figured I’d give it a go. I don’t think I can stick it out after getting to the third chapter. Ugh

Not done with it, but not really liking it

The many positives in the story were overshadowed by the lewdness and crudeness throughout. I really hope this is not acceptable action, language or behavior in the black community.

Insulting and Disrespectful

I'm not sure how this book got into my library. I didn't choose it. The story seems promising but I couldn't listen anymore because of the AI narration. Part of the appeal of audible books is the dramatic oral interpretation. AI can't really do that. This AI was better than most but still not nearly good enough. It's the equivalent annoyance factor of listening to it being read in monotone. If that doesn't bother you give it a try.

The AI reading is terrible!
