About this listen

The Wild Duck (Vilanden) is a tragedy with comic episodes. Ibsen himself characterized the play as a tragicomedy. It depicts ordinary life realistically instead of romantically and sentimentally, a revolutionary concept in Ibsen's time. The play is now generally acknowledged as one of Ibsen's supreme accomplishments.

The audio quality on this performance is horrible. each actor apparently recorded their part in their own recording studio. The acting is atrocious. My high school musical performance was better than this. hard to believe they got paid to do this. The play is one of the great plays of Western literature. and is absolutely wonderful. I struggled to enjoy it through the abysmal performance.

horrible presentation of one of the greatest plays
