About this listen

A “deeply, darkly funny” (Ali Wong, comedian and New York Times bestselling author) collection of insightful and razor-sharp essays on motherhood in our post-apocalyptic world from comedian Natasha Leggero.

When Natasha Leggero got pregnant at forty-two after embarking on the grueling IVF process, she was over the moon. But once her feelings of bliss dissipated, she couldn’t help but shake the lingering question: Am I doing this right? And then, Should I be doing this if the world is about to end?

In “by far the funniest book” (Chelsea Handler, New York Times bestselling author) about parenting, Natasha explores themes like “geriatric” pregnancy, parenting in an environmental panic, fear and love, discipline (and conflicting schools of thought on how not to raise a brat), and more. Ultimately, Natasha determines that motherhood is worth it. After all, where do you think the next five generations of humans will be if the only people who are having kids don’t believe in science? The world deserves my children.

Nothing better than an Honest parenting book!

Loved it! I love someone that can tell you the real not-sugarcoated story of becoming a parent, and that it makes you laugh the entire time. More of this please!

Not a mother, but very relatable.

I loved it! As someone who doesn’t know if they’d like children it’s cool to hear the perspective of someone who also didn’t think they wanted children, but found the partner that made them believe it was possible to love and mother a child. Funny and fun listen. Some laugh out loud moments even. Definitely recommend.

Wish it was longer

At least an hour or two worth of this book you can probably get for free by just listening to her standup, interviews, or podcasts. I wanted more material I hadn’t heard before. But it had pretty good laughs.

Loved it!

I’m already a fan of Natasha Legerro’s comedy, her acting, and her podcast, so it’s no surprise that I enjoyed her book! This book is as insightful and genuine as it is funny, and the chemistry between Natasha and Moshe just puts a smile on your face. I really loved this book. Great Job, Natasha!

Hilarious and real

I’ve been a big fan of Natasha Leggero’s standup for a while and this book did not disappoint. I also have small children and parts were both really funny and really moving. She perfectly captures those feelings of overwhelming love and anxiety that moms have. I loved it. I hope she writes another book soon!

Such a funny parenting book!

I first heard the author of Juicy Scoop podcast, and her conversation with Heather McDonald was so funny I bought the audiobook!
This book is so funny if you are a mom who loves your kids and spouse, but also has a dark sense of humor and knows that it’s the hardest job in the world. Seriously laughed the whole way through
