Editorial reviews

These classic tales from the master of the short story are narrated by the masterful Frank Muller, a perfect match. This collection is emotional and insightful for the listener, and made even more so by Muller’s perfect pacing, his performance of a wide range of diverse characters, and his ability to add tension to his voice as he nears the surprise endings O. Henry is best noted for. Listeners looking for stories guaranteed to bring a smile to the lips and a lump to the throat will find Muller’s narration the best way to enjoy these timeless treats.

O Henry is astounding in his ability to conjure tales with a surprise ending for each. His Characters are individuals of depth. And…Frank Muller! I did not want this to end. More for me of O Henry and Frank Muller.

A most amazing storyteller

The 1st story is the only one I had previously known. After listening to this book I am The better for it all. I chose the story because of the narrator. FM Is my all time favorite narrator.

Stories with a twist

I love O'Henry, especially his short stories, and it was wonderfully read, or should I say performed?

This seems to be a fairly common theme among the books I have had occasion to look at at audible.com, according to the reviewers It has certainly borne through in the two I have bought so far. This narrators voice seems to emanate from the depths of a cellar, and unless you turn the treble upon your speakers all the way up, the voice hardly comes through. I imagine a fair amount of self selection in my experiences, though, as I am fond of the classics of the 'complete collected unabridged' variety. The stories themselves are superb, and I for one am wiling to tolerate the lack of clarity for the content. I put this review out there for informtional purposes, although you migt well end up making the same choice I did. Unfortunately, this is the most complete collected recording of O. Henry out there.

Abysmal quality, superb literature
