About this listen

In this, the first book of its kind, Kate Kray, who married gangster Ronnie Kray, peers into the minds of the top 20 worst killers in criminal history and, sparing no detail, reveals the awful truth of their abominable acts. The extreme nature of their violence and their shocking lack of remorse makes for uncomfortable yet fascinating listening.

From obsessive sexual predators and extreme sadists to cannibals and head hunters, each type of psychopath is examined, their crimes against life told with grim yet necessary frankness.

Kate offers true insight into the deeply worrying motivations of what come to seem closer to monsters than humans, begging the question of whether such individuals can themselves be viewed as victims of troubled pasts or merely as exponents of pure evil. But be warned: these stories are not for the fainthearted....

Introduced some new information, factual accounts

Loved the performance! I could listen to his voice reading a shopping list he put the emphasis if all the right places. Expecting it to be a little more in depth, and think I have a difference of opinion on the top 20

No mercy!

Twenty killers, and their many many crimes, each laid out in stories of unbelievable brutality and the murderers with uncanny abilities to remain hidden. This is a book that will have you making sure your windows and doors are locked and nobody's inside that shouldn't be!

Ugh!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes! The Narrator. While I can look over some of the annoying British mispronunciations and nicknames, (and there were a lot), the Narrator could at least familiarize himself with the proper pronunciations of everyday titles and objects. He pronounced Chi Omega as Chee Omeega! Do they not have Latin in the UK? There were others but too many to list!

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

I did like getting to know some of the less known facts of these cases.

Would you be willing to try another one of Geoff Barham’s performances?

NO!

Could you see The World's 20 Worst Crimes being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes. Documentary series.

Any additional comments?

Seemed thrown together quickly.

Good International Coverage

I thought this book had a lot of information and even a couple cases I hadn't heard of.

The narration was good but with a few incorrect words (i.e. changing the killer or victim name in the same sentence).
