About this listen
Ranch foreman, Wade Easton, becomes a recluse after he’s gored by a bull and his fiancée leaves him. He moves to Abilene and establishes himself as a successful dime novelist. Desperate for another housekeeper after yet another woman quits, he accepts Lillian Kirk on a trial basis, although he thinks she’s too young for the job and soon finds himself liking her too much. He knows from experience that women don’t want a broken man. When his ex-fiancé shows up, things get even more complicated.

Great!
What a beautiful story this was. It had wonderful Christian values and a lesson to learn from. The narrator was great. He had a pleasant voice and was very good with the characters.

Written With Love
Listening to the audiobook of The Writer’s Rescue was very satisfying. The narrator was fantastic. Wade has been a recluse after an accident. He needs a new housekeeper and Lillian applied. Wade is not sure if Lillian will be a good fit, but gives her a chance. He has become a writer, since the accident and needs his privacy. Lillian becomes more of a help to Wade, but I think they are becoming more to each other than boss and employee. Delightful story and wonderful characters.
I was given a copy of the book by the author for a honest review.

Wonderful listen!
What a fun, grumpy sunshine story, and the path to happiness is right there for the taking! Dime novelist, Wade Easton has found success in his career, but has become a bit of a hermit. Not easy to get along with, he has a problem keeping a housekeeper. When Lillian is recommended to him, he immediately is hesitant. She is much to pretty, a bit of a distraction, so saying she is to young should take care of that. Now he is convinced to hire her on a trial basis. Lillian needs a job, and she is going to prove to him she is able to do the job. She is going to do exactly what he wants. But will that be enough? I loved this for so many reasons. I love Lillian and her relationship with the other women in the house. I love how Wade continually looks for errors, but only finds just what he needs. And I love how he finds his faith. This is a fantastic story, and I really enjoyed it.
Jared Walters is the perfect narrator for this story. He has a great voice to bring out the brokenness in Wade, and the positivity that Lillian brings into the house. He brought out all the feels and made this a true gem.

Christian Historical Romance
This story is completely different from others I have read by this author! I loved the uniqueness of it. I loved how he returned to his faith that he lost after devastating circumstances! It was just such a realistic story! One that could be set in just about any time period with slight modifications of transportation and his previous job.
I thought the narration was perfect! I wouldn't change a thing!! I hope you take a chance if Janice Hopkins is a new author for you, and I hope repeat readers will continue to enjoy her stories for years to come!
