Li Jinglin (1885-1931)

Li Jinglin, also known as Li Fang, was a renowned martial artist, swordsman, and general in the National Revolutionary Army of the Republic of China. Recognized as the "God of Sword," Li was instrumental in promoting martial arts in the 20th century. He served as the principal of the Central Martial Arts Academy in Nanjing and was also known for hosting the "Leitai" tournaments, open challenges designed to identify the most skilled martial artists in the country.

Li learned Wudang Sword from Song Wei Yi and further refined his skills with Yang Luchan's son, Yang Jianhou. His style blended elements of Wudang martial arts and Taijiquan, leading to a unique synthesis that is appreciated by martial artists worldwide.

Jiang Rongqiao (1891-1974)

Jiang Rongqiao, also known as Chiang Jung Ch'iao, was a significant proponent and master of Nei Jia kung fu, which includes Xingyiquan, Baguazhang, and Taijiquan. Jiang started his martial arts journey with Mi Zhong Quan under his father and uncle's guidance. His training then expanded under the mentorship of Zhang Zao Dong and Li Jinglin, further honing his expertise in various martial art forms.

Jiang's contributions to martial arts literature, including texts on Baguazhang and Xingyiquan, are highly esteemed and have played a crucial role in popularizing these arts globally. Despite losing his sight, Jiang continued to teach and write books, passing on his profound knowledge to future generations.

In "The Yang Style Taijiquan of Li Jinglin," the wisdom and teachings of Li Jinglin, Yao Fuchun, and Jiang Rongqiao come together, providing an unparalleled understanding of Taijiquan to the readers.
