About this listen

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Samantha Chase crafts a tender, hopeful family-centered romance.

She knows him by reputation.

Riley Shaughnessy knew that to stand out in his large family, he'd have to go big. Making a name for himself as a musician wasn't easy, but he followed his dreams to rock-star success. But the relentless expectations of fans is not helping the slump he's in now. So of course the person who attracts him is the woman who is not impressed by fame.

Which gives Riley Shaughnessy a lot to prove.

Entertainment reporter Savannah Daly is completely unfazed by pretty-boy rock stars. She's just here to get her interview and write her story. But spending an entire month with the Shaughnessys is going to show Savannah a side of Riley she never could have guessed.

Melodic symphony of the heart....

What did you love best about This Is Our Song?

RIley had an almost otherworldly connection with his mother. His love for her proved a guiding force in his life and I have no words to describe how beautiful that is.

What other book might you compare This Is Our Song to and why?

Pearl Moon by Katherine Stone - Despite time, distance, secrets and hurt love was the guiding force that reunited two long lost sisters. Riley had a guardian angel lighting his way and despite all the heartache endured she led him to where he was meant to be.

Have you listened to any of Christopher Kipiniak and Julia Motyka ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first time that I have listened to an audio book in duet form. Although a little confusing at times, I enjoyed hearing the viewpoints in a male, female dialogue and not imagining them within my head.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried more from listening to the audio book than I did reading the actual novel. The audio allowed the story to come alive in a way that gave me a better understanding of the relationships and caused tingles in my heart.

Any additional comments?

No matter the format, This Is Our Song is a masterpiece.

Best Book EVER!!!!!

This was the best book ever. I laughed out loud and cried while smiling. This book touched my heart at a time I needed it. I lost one of my granddaughters 4 years ago and my mother in 2020. All of our favorite song is Over the Rainbow. So Thank You very much. Cindy Daugherty.

My Fav Shaughnessy Book So Far!

I started this series knowing nothing about the author or premise, and, at first, I agreed with some of the criticisms about the male narrator and similarities found in Books 1 and 2...but I’m truly glad I kept reading the series...and that I read the titles in order! I’ve come to love the characters in each book! In the series, Chase explores true human foibles with characters who are forced to take a hard look at themselves and choose to change for the better...and its all wrapped up in fun, sexy, fantasy romance. I love how the books are sexy without being graphic and with themes of redemption and family values intertwined, this series is like none I’ve read before. Start with the first and I believe, like me, any early criticisms will be forgotten. Read it for fun, and let the deeper meaning touch you! Can’t wait to start the next title!

Enjoyable characters - painful male narrator.

This was a fun story with well-written characters. I wanted to marry into the male lead’s family. The male lead character is a rock star who is supposed to be ultra-masculine. I tried extremely hard to believe it, but the voice of the male narrator was completely unbelievable. It became a pain point but I was invested in the characters so I listened to the whole book. I won't be able to buy into it again so I hope the rest of the series has a different narrator. Such a miss in a great love story.

The best one yet!

I love stories that are part of a series about a family you come to know and love, so I have loved this whole series about the Shaughnessy family and Riley’s band. But for me, this one was the best. I’m not a rock star but I am a musician and a performer. The writer really did a great job of capturing the doubts and struggles we musicians face every time we create something and put it out there. I could really relate to Riley and his battles with self doubt. I was cheer I gotta for him and Savanah all the way. Add to that, the two readers did a great job of bringing the story to life.I think I’ll start at the beginning and listen again right now!
