About this listen

Being a young pastor in a local church can prove to be challenging and rewarding. The Apostle Paul wrote this letter to Timothy who was a young pastor in Ephesus. Paul was familiar with the Ephesian people since he had stopped there on his third missionary journey and started the church in Ephesus. The letter to Timothy is a letter full of advice and encouragement for the young pastor. Paul had been Timothy's mentor since they first met when Timothy was about 16 years of age. Paul instructs Timothy on proper worship, women in the church, qualifications of elders and deacons, treatment of various age groups and genders. Paul drives home sound advice on false teachers and false teachings. Timothy also receives advice on those who would place money above God. In between all these topics are nuggets of information for the daily lives of Christians. Although this book is referred to as one of the pastoral epistles or letters, it is for all Christians in every walk of life. This is not a commentary on the book of 1 Timothy but rather some thoughts as if I might be preparing a teaching or Bible study. It goes just below the surface to supply enough information to stir the reader to dig deeper on their own. Finally, I have not written anything in this book which hasn't been thoroughly researched and agreed upon by multiple sources. Also, I believe what is in this book has been provided by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Bible Study Bibles & Bible Study Biblical Biography Christianity New Testament
