About this listen
As the ground forces pushed the Kaiser's armies back in Autumn 1918, Allied air losses were higher than in the infamous BLOODY APRIL. The Germans had introduced new, superior aircraft but it was a vain last effort. Still, many British, American and French pilots died during what became known as BLACK SEPTEMBER.
THREE BROTHERS drops the reader into these deadly skies.
The lives of two teenage cousins growing up far from discontented Europe are disrupted when a Swiss girl comes into their lives. At first, they resent her but, in time, the three become closer than siblings, referring to themselves as the "Three Brothers."
But one of the boys is German and the other American. By 1918 they are both pilots, at war - but on opposite sides and they've come to hate each other. The girl is now a woman working for the Red Cross and is forced to play a dangerous game in a desperate attempt to keep both men alive...
