About this listen

Leslie White knew she wanted more out of life - She found it in an unlikely place.

Devastated from the loss of both parents to cancer nine months apart, Leslie vowed to change her life. She bought the neighbor’s old motorhome, found a job as a traveling histologist, and hit the road. But she found she could not trust the one person she was still holding
onto.

Ride along for the sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes hilarious tale of traveling and working across America, and Alaska, and back. Leslie drove through depression and grief, to the other side - to acceptance, peace, and forgiveness.

The memoir, Three Years A Traveler, is a vivid, humorous, and moving recount of betrayal, grief recovery, and the jagged journey back to healing and happiness.

Listening the Leslie share her travels was highly relatable as a fellow RV'er. The humorous accounts of the journey made the book very enjoyable. Her vulnerable moments made the story relatable with enough details to leave us laughing at times and wondering "..what the heck...again?!" other times.

Whether you are listening to the book while traveling (as we did) or are looking for some adventure thru the eyes of another, we highly recommend this book.

Captivating reminuence of a women's life journey

I enjoyed traveling alongside the author as she described the many challenges she faced with such humor! How brave to have driven to Alaska on her own! I also appreciated that she shared all the wonders she found at the many parks she visited along the way.

I loved the humor!

This memoir is both extraordinary and ordinary. I'm a retired family counselor and her story could be very relatable for single middle aged women or men, who has decided to go on an adventure, instead of staying in their comfort zone of work and worrying, but traveling across the country and experiencing the US, it's beauty and diversity along with hardships and dangers in the wilderness! that I could relate to. I would also recommend the audiobook- Among Wolves by Berna Bolyn.

Front cover so cute got my attention and the story was worth my time I listened to it several times

I loved this honest account of the authors three-year life transitions, travels, And triumphs. She shares funny, poignant, and sometimes sad tales about her journey. I found myself reflecting on my own joys and pain during the reading of this book. It was also wonderful to listen to the authors voice. The story always resonates so much more when it’s read directly from the author.

Happy tears, sad tears and laughter

I'm a very picky person when it comes to books. My go to books are usually time travel or military books. So I wasn't sure if I would make it 10 mins into this one. But I was very surprised, It turned into a great read. I was never bored with the story, I even listened to it when I was at the gym. anyways Great read I would definitely recommend it.

Not what I expected..
Disappointed..
Very long pauses between chapters.
Not really about the travel part.
Kind of hollow.
I thought it was going to be more about the traveling part...
Was hoping it would be more about the travel
