An exciting thrill ride of a novella.

I am not normally that into short stories and novellas, but this one piqued my interest. I have been on a huge sci fi binge lately, and this story just appealed to me. I always love seeing where authors will take visions of the future, and this book provided a glimpse of a possible future which is pretty realistic. With excellent characters, solid worldbuilding, and a fast paced plot, it is the kind of story that is perfect for listening to while stuck in traffic or taking a trip. Owen McCuen does a good job with the narration, keeping good pacing throughout, and using a variety of tones and voices to differentiate the characters. All in all, a fine piece of work by both author and narrator.

On the Edge of My Seat

If you could sum up Through a Glass Darkly in three words, what would they be?

science fiction, exciting, quick read, couldn't-put-down.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Through a Glass Darkly?

This is a difficult question to answer because there were many excellent moments in the story, but if I have to choose just one, I'd say the huge, slimy monster terrorizing the space ship.

What about Owen McCuen’s performance did you like?

Owen McCuen portrayed the characters using just the right nuances with his voice to increase the terror, cuddle the warm and fuzzy scenes, and relate the powerful arguments. Job well done!

Any additional comments?

Truly quick read to escape the mundane.

Through a Glass Darkly -Miss Mae

This is an excellent story written by Miss Mae about a futuristic world where a lot of things happened and went wrong in a short time. I hope Miss Mae will create more Rexen stories The storyline is about Romance, Horror and Science fiction and I love the way this book is written. From the beginning to end is interesting.

About the narrator.

It was narrated by the wonderfull talent and voice of Owen McCuen which gives different voices to each Caracter. He change his voice to fit every caracter even the females. Amazing listen

Miss Mae delivers a well written story on the SciFi front. From the very start this was just an all around fun novella to listen to. Length of it makes it perfect for being stuck in rush hour traffic and keeping occupied. But you'll be more than occupied, you'll hope you have enough time to finish before you get there. Owen McCuen does an excellent job of voice the individual characters and bringing out the details of each through their very distinct voices. Highly recommend this.

Definitely Not Their Day

This short story packs a punch. In this future time computer viruses may no longer exist but with a few tweaks viola, never say never. To top it off they also have a spider like alien reeking havoc and that is just the start. It is definitely not your normal run-of-the-mill day for the medical transport ship, Captain Vexen Rheinhard, Remard, and the ship's computer, Della.

Miss Mae gives us a complete space opera with lots of action, intrigue, and a bit of romance. It definitely does not feel like a short story. I swear I was panting part of the way through.

Owen McCuen does wonderful justice to the female and male characters of all varieties in addition to some really cool sound effects. I am definitely a fan.

Awesome sci-fi short!

Aside from the giant spider in space (I hate spiders), this was a great story. Very creative short and the narrator does a great job with each character.

Enjoyable Traditional Short Story

I Liked that this is a traditional short story, and by that I mean one with a beginning a middle and an end. Reminiscent of the golden age of SF in its construction and story.

Both the writing and reading were very enjoyable.

Interesting SciFi Short Story

"Through a Glass Darkly" was a pretty neat little short story. It seemed as if there should be more but perhaps there will be in the future. It had a lot of action packed into a little over an hour. I don't know what I can say about it that hasn't already been said other than I liked it. A collection of these short stories would be awesome. Great job by Miss Mae.

Owen McCuen did a nice job with the narration. He was able to change his voice and make the story believable even though it was science fiction. It was sort of even futuristic.

Short scifi

What was one of the most memorable moments of Through a Glass Darkly?

Since this is a short story, it is hard to tell you how good it is without giving away any of the story. I will say that the twist in this book was well thought out and does not disappoint. I listen in one sitting
