About this listen

Time Enough for Love is the capstone and crowning achievement of Heinlein's famous Future History series.

Lazarus Long is so in love with life that he simply refuses to die. Born in the early 1900s, he lives through multiple centuries, his love for time ultimately causing him to become his own ancestor. Time Enough for Loveis his lovingly detailed account of his journey through a vast and magnificent timescape of centuries and worlds. Using the voice of Lazarus, Heinlein expounds his own philosophies, including his radical ideas on sexual freedom. His use of slang, technical jargon, sharp wit, and clever understatement lend this story a texture and authority that seems the very tone of things to come.

I read this story as a young woman during my first Science Fiction phase. Robert Heinlein's books are readable always, with a strong plot line. This particular book tells the story of a near-immortal family and its members as they march through a history that can only be created by Heinlein.

Loved it the umpteenth time around.

Classic Heinlein!

An excellent book, very well read. Time Enough For Love is an amazing book that I enjoy no matter how many times I've read our listened to it.

One of Heinlein's best

Heinlein, himself unable to live for millenia, did the next best thing in his imagination.

A Masterpiece of Solipsism

Great Sci-fi Book

If you removed all the uncomfortable sexual situations from this book, you'd be left with a 30 minute short story. Oh, and Heinlein can't write a woman's character to save his life. Or, more specifically, he writes the same spunky woman over and over again with only minor cosmetic changes. Despite that, I generally love Heinlein when he's actually doing science fiction.

Way too much incest

This would make a great miniseries which could continue with other Heinlein books featuring Lazarus Long.

As relevant today as it was in 1973

Heinlein is one of the greatest storytellers I’ve ever seen, and also one of the greatest thinkers. This book was as much of a life lesson as it was a darn good story.

Incredible
