About this listen

Salvation at last... or is it?

The closer the survivors come to finding a sanctuary some unimaginable setback occurs, and throws their plans into disarray. When you're dealing with the former living the unimaginable is always a possibility. Toward the Brink 5 is a heart-pumping, action-packed adventure that explores the human psyche in the face of unimaginable horror. It is a tale of loss, love, and the resilience of the human spirit, a never say die attitude and a warning of dire consequences when humanity places greed above all else.

Toward the Brink ... the journey's end (?).

The fifth installment in the Toward the Brink series brings a sense of “salvation” from living on the island and the hope of sanctuary. Like the previous books there are multiple storylines playing out simultaneously and, in this book, Elliot senses the need to go back to search for his companions from the ill-fated trip to shut down the automated nuclear missile system. This quest isn’t just action-packed, the sense of urgency becomes paramount through visions Elliot begins receiving. Of all the five stories, this one kept me on edge with the sense of urgency, and anticipation of what might happen if Elliot and his group didn’t get back in time to join the other survivors as they headed for sanctuary. And then there was a momentary point in the story where I felt everything was finally resolved right up until it wasn’t. Once again Kyle Snyder did an excellent job bringing the story and each of the characters to life. If you enjoy zombie apocalypse stories, I highly recommend this series, from its unique cause for the zombies to the adventures of this group of survivors and the associated action you cannot help but be entertained. Of course, if you want to enhance your experience, get the audiobooks, and let Kyle Snyder’s narration take you on the adventure.

Can the group finally catch a break?
