Have you always been fascinated by the morbid side of Hollywood? Did you cut your teeth on books like Hollywood Babylon, and shows like Mysteries And Scandals? This book promises to deliver all the salacious details about the stars you remember, not for their films, but for their tragic short lives. What really happened to Natalie Wood aboard The Splendor that cold November night? Was Jayne Mansfield really decapitated? Just how decadent were the days of the silent movies? Maybe you think you've heard it all? Trust me, you haven't! Chock full of new details, shocking photos and even a segment on haunted Hollywood, you've never seen a book quite like Tragic Hollywood. Read about the unbelievable thing that happened to Errol Flynn AFTER he was dead. Find out why Sharon Tate is said to haunt her Cielo Drive Neighborhood to this day. You will not be able to put this book down! These stories are delivered with a wit and poignant observation that will leave you saying "WOW"Third Edition. Entertainment & Celebrities

A lot of facts and stories about Hollywood history. Liked how it is broken into sections rather than all ran together

I thoroughly enjoyed this book except for the robot reading of it. The mispronunciations are so annoying.

Great Thumbnail Bios of Some Barely Heard of Stars

The book was alright if you just want an overview of the people. The AI narrator was so lousy. Lots of mispronounced words. It was actually distracting.

Horrible AI narrator!

Mispronounced names and places many, many, many times. Disappointing, would have been better if a person or better software would have narrated it.

Bad AI narration

The virtual reader mispronounced so many words and inflections were so off that it took away from the entire book.
I will check any narrations from now on.

Do NOT like auto-generated orations. Bots do a book like this a great injustice. Pay people to read this for us, the customer. I’m not a fan of AI, or any other non-human service. It ruined this book. Also, the writer was insensitive to some of these people.

As a fan of cheesy Hollywood gossip (guilty pleasure) I loved the content. “Cirrhoses-by-the-Sea”. LOL. I would love to listen to “Bring on the Empty Horses” by David Niven and Arthur
Rubenstein’s bio “My Many Years”.

Can’t forget for a moment that it’s a computer-generated voice. It’s distracting. Please use real readers.

This book is performed by virtual voice, which is better than some of the human readers that I have heard. The problem is that English is a bizarre language with unusual rules for pronunciation. An actual human (mainly American) would know that "costar" should be pronounced as co-star, not coss-star, "route 405" isnt "four hundred and five" and the Roman numeral chapter headings also give it problems.

The virtual voice problems are all technical issues that will be worked out in the future. My criticism with the book itself is that the author can't seem to decide whether or not to inject their own opinions on the celebrities or play it down the middle, so when those opinions show up, it is difficult not to bump into them. The author is especially tough on women, most specifically Lupe Valez, Jayne Mansfield and Marilyn Monroe.

Too snarky for my taste
