some quick entertainment.

the three stories were good. a little short for me, but I usually love the long series or 10 plus hour books. the longer they are the more captivated by the characters you get. but this was fun, and quick. my favorite was the dentist one (last one), funny and entertaining. I would recommend it.

What vampires do in their down time.

This book was good. Jack de Golia’s performance is excellent he really breaths life into the characters. The first story is fine but Sarah is not a smart person. First she is far too nice to the protagonist considering that she is there to kill a monster. Then she tells the guy that she is part of an organization that hunts and kills monsters. It doesn’t ruin the story and give a bit more info to what is going on. Just thought there would be more hesitation on her end. The second story is great. Being in the head of nick as he goes through his existential is a unique point of view. An exciting and imaginative take on what secrets this world held. Very good little tale. The third story is the best while the others got a smile or a chuckle from me, this one got a genuine laugh. I found myself questioning, like the count, wether or not this was possible. Yes it seems probable enough. It ends with the main character dodging quite the bullet. (hehehe) there isn’t much gore, violence, or even profanity in these stories which surprises me. Despite which they still are an entertaining listen.

Awesome trip of vampire tales

I have to say this one knocked my socks off. The story of the avid tripping vampire and the sweet tooth vampire were my favorites on this one and are an absolute novel way of looking at vampires. I don’t want to give too much away as they are short stories but I can say for sure that if you like vampires, you’ll never look at them quite the same way again. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

Different take on vampire stories

Any additional comments?

I have received this book in audio format from the narrator in exchange for an honest review.

At the beginning of this book we are warned that this is not the typical vampires story, since Brown affirms she is not a vampire person. Neither am I, so I was curious to see her take on vampire stories. This book is composed by three short stories about vampires with a different take. The first is about how a vampire has influenced the luck of a person; the second is about a hippy vampire drinking blood full of acid; and the third is about a vampire with a sweet tooth and the consequences of it.

It was an easy listen with some humor in it. The stories I liked most were the first and the third. The first could have been a draft of a longer book. And even if I am not into vampire stories, I would have listened to it. The second was too mystic for me. The vampire was reflecting about the meaning of life for a vampire, and I had troubles to really connect to it. The third was so absurd that it made me laugh a lot.

Jack de Golia's narration was superb, very expressive and clear, doing a great interpretation of all the characters and giving them all different voices. I would love to listen to more audiobooks narrated by de Golia.

I think this book could be enjoyed not only by horror fans since it is very different from the regular vampire tale. Its length makes it also ideal if you want a quick listen.

Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad

Now that the review title has quoted Meatloaf, the explanation follows.

There are three stories in this collection, as the book title states. The first and last stories were entertaining for me, but the second dragged. Story 1 focused on a man whose luck has been monumentally tragic for the majority of his life. His inexplicable misfortunes include being robbed over 100 times, “losing” two cars, and getting stuck in elevators an inordinate number of times. An unexpected visit involving a vampire leads to an answer to the most prominent question of his life, “Why me?”

Sunshine is the second story. It is a deep story, exploring existentialism and vampirism. The question of what is life, or unlife, is the crux of the story, but it just became redundant, then tedious. The story could have been more succinct and accomplished the same goal, or have been more comedic considering the genesis of the plight.

Whereas comedy was a missing element of the pervious story, it came to the fore in the final tale. This was the most entertaining, as it is both silly and inclusive of unique consequences of the vampire’s condition. Without revealing the story, imagine a scenario where a vampire seeks help, and only help, from a dentist.

Jack de Golia delivered solid performances throughout the stories. The last story was perhaps his best, as he really evoked the uniquely humorous circumstances of both the dentist and the vampire. He demonstrated great range and creativity of delivery despite there being only two characters.

Triple Shot of Vampires

This was a much different take on vampires than I am used to. We were warned that is not your typical vampire story. These vampires are not the gorgeous hunky ones. These are disgusting but get their just do. These stories were pretty good though. Jack de Golia did a very good job with the narration. Unconventional Vampire Stories

Here are 3 Vampire stories that are not the normal take on Vampires. They are pretty good though and will entertain you, In my opinion stories 1 and 3 are the best. Jack de Golia does a good job of narrating. I was provided a free audiobook code by the author or narrator and FABC...I am voluntarily posting my unbiased review.
