About this listen
Helping her girlfriend dig through a hoarder's garage, an unnamed narrator with an inimitable voice ushers us into a world that is somehow both shadowy and vivid, tragically dark and life-affirmingly funny - a psychological funhouse full of tricks and sleights of hands. As she peels back the layers of three lives lived in fear, she's forced to decide how much to let her past determine her future.

Intense little nugget.
So much packed into so few words. The narrator is one of my favourites. The main character has finally met her match. Ms. Inclan knows how to fill a short story with buckets of emotion and, of course, I love a happy ending.

Twisted tale: hoarding, casual sex, & murder
Well narrated short story of a daughter’s approach to her mother’s hoarding, as told by the daughter’s girlfriend. The author has a taste for throwing in random and jarring sex scenes and F bombs, as well as a dark gift of for painting pictures with words: “I’m like a jumbo shrimp with its black vein and no knife to cut it out; Kristin was a lemon, the spray when the knife goes through it, shooting out juice and scent... I wanted to squeeze her all over me, baptized at last.”
Free. Dark. Entertaining.

Too short.
Just as I was settling in for what was shaping up to be a good book it was over. I truly hope this author continues the story!

Not my cup of tea
Amazingly short. Thankfully. Pointless excerpt from life of a veterinarian about her gay lover’s mother’s death. Oops. Have away ending.
